# Filtering & Saved Views

> Find and organize SKUs with powerful filtering tools

# Filtering & Saved Views

With potentially thousands of SKUs, finding the right products quickly is essential. Tether's filtering system helps you narrow down your view and save common filter combinations for reuse.

## The Filter Panel

The filter panel appears on the left side of the SKU dashboard. It contains multiple filter sections that work together.

The dashboard header displays a count showing **"{filtered} of {total} SKUs"** so you always know how many SKUs match your current filters.

### Filter Sections

| Filter                   | Description                      |
| ------------------------ | -------------------------------- |
| **Search**               | Text search across name and code |
| **SKU Type**             | Filter by product type           |
| **Status**               | Active or Archived               |
| **Collections**          | Filter by parent collection      |
| **Collection Hierarchy** | Filter by hierarchy levels       |
| **Dimensions**           | Filter by attribute values       |

## Text Search

The quickest way to find a specific SKU:

1. Type in the search box at the top of the filter panel
2. Results filter as you type
3. Search matches against:
   * SKU Name
   * SKU Code
   * UPC
   * Amazon ID

  Use the search for quick lookups. Combine with other filters for more refined results.

## Filter by SKU Type

Filter products by their classification:

| Type           | Shows                                        |
| -------------- | -------------------------------------------- |
| Finished Good  | Sellable products                            |
| Variant        | Product variations (size/color combinations) |
| Component      | Parts, raw materials, and packaging          |
| Bundle         | Product bundles                              |
| Kit            | Assembly kits                                |
| Virtual Bundle | Logical groupings                            |

**To use:**

1. Expand the **SKU Type** section
2. Check the types you want to see
3. Results update immediately

## Filter by Status

Show or hide archived products:

| Option       | Result                             |
| ------------ | ---------------------------------- |
| **Active**   | Show only active SKUs              |
| **Archived** | Show only archived SKUs            |
| **Both**     | Show all SKUs regardless of status |

  By default, only Active SKUs are shown. Remember to include Archived if you need to find historical products.

## Filter by Collection

Narrow down to SKUs within specific collections:

    * Check collections you want to include
    * Use the search box to find specific collections
  </Step>

    Only SKUs in the selected collections will appear

## Collection Hierarchy Filtering

If you've set up a product hierarchy, dynamic hierarchy fields appear as filter sections based on your active configuration.

**Example Hierarchy:**

```
Category → Subcategory → Product Line
Apparel → T-Shirts → Summer Collection
```

Filter at any level to see all SKUs below that point in the hierarchy.

Each hierarchy level uses tri-state selection (Include, Exclude, Neutral) and includes an **(Unassigned)** option to find SKUs that don't have a value set for that hierarchy level.

## Dimension Filtering

Filter by product attributes like Size, Color, or Material. Dimension filter sections appear dynamically based on the dimensions configured in your system.

### Available Dimensions

Only dimension values that are actually present in your data appear as filter options. Common examples:

| Dimension | Example Values           |
| --------- | ------------------------ |
| Size      | S, M, L, XL, XXL         |
| Color     | Red, Blue, Black, White  |
| Material  | Cotton, Polyester, Blend |
| Style     | Regular, Slim, Relaxed   |

### Using Dimension Filters

    Click on the dimension name (e.g., "Size")

    Check the values you want to see
  </Step>

  <Step title="Combine Dimensions">
    Use multiple dimensions together:

    * Size: M, L
    * Color: Blue, Black
    * Shows: Medium Blue, Medium Black, Large Blue, Large Black
  </Step>

## Tri-State Selection

All filters (SKU Type, Collection, Hierarchy, and Dimensions) use a three-state selection system:

| State       | Visual Indicator | Behavior                               |
| ----------- | ---------------- | -------------------------------------- |
| **Neutral** | Gray circle      | No filtering applied — all items shown |
| **Include** | Green checkmark  | Show only items matching this value    |
| **Exclude** | Red X            | Hide items matching this value         |

### How It Works

* **Click once** on a filter value to set it to **Include** (green checkmark)
* **Click again** to set it to **Exclude** (red X)
* **Click a third time** to return to **Neutral** (gray circle)

When all filter values are neutral, all SKUs are displayed.

### Example Use Case

Find all T-Shirts that are NOT Blue:

1. In the Collection filter, click "T-Shirts" once (green checkmark — Include)
2. In the Color dimension filter, click "Blue" twice (red X — Exclude)
3. Results show all T-Shirts except blue ones

  The **Clear All** button resets every filter back to neutral in one click.

## Combining Filters

Filters work together using AND logic:

* SKU Type = Finished Good **AND**
* Collection = T-Shirts **AND**
* Size = M, L **AND**
* Status = Active

This shows active finished goods in T-Shirts that are Medium or Large.

## Clearing Filters

### Clear Individual Filters

Click the **X** or **Clear** button next to each filter section.

### Clear All Filters

Click the **Clear All** button at the top of the filter panel to reset everything.

## Saved Views

Save your frequently used filter combinations for quick access.

### Creating a Saved View

    Look for the **Save View** button in the filter panel or toolbar
  </Step>

    Enter a descriptive name:

    * "Active T-Shirts - Medium/Large"
    * "Low Stock Items"
    * "Summer 2024 Collection"
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save">
    Click **Save** to store the view
  </Step>

### Loading a Saved View

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the Views Dropdown">
    Click the **Views** dropdown in the toolbar
  </Step>

  <Step title="Select a View">
    Click on your saved view name
  </Step>

  <Step title="Filters Applied">
    All filters from the saved view are applied automatically
  </Step>

### Managing Saved Views

| Action     | How                                                       |
| ---------- | --------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Edit**   | Load the view, modify filters, save with same name        |
| **Rename** | Access view management and change the name                |
| **Delete** | Remove views you no longer need                           |
| **Share**  | Views are personal by default; check settings for sharing |

### Default View

You can set a default view that loads when you first open the SKU dashboard:

1. Load or create your preferred view
2. Click **Set as Default**
3. This view loads automatically on future visits

## Column Visibility

Customize which columns appear in the data table:

    Check or uncheck columns to show or hide them

    Column settings can be saved as part of a view

## Export Filtered Results

Export only the SKUs matching your current filters:

1. Set up your filters
2. Click **Export**
3. Choose format (CSV, Excel)
4. Download includes only filtered results

  Exports respect both filters and column visibility. What you see is what you export.

## Tips for Effective Filtering

    Begin with larger filters (collection, type) then narrow down with specific attributes. This helps you understand the scope before diving into details.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Use Search for Known Items">
    If you know the SKU code or name, text search is fastest. Use filters when browsing or analyzing groups of SKUs.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Create Views for Workflows">
    Set up saved views for your common tasks:

    * "Weekly Review - Low Stock"
    * "New Products This Month"
    * "Active Summer Items"
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Remember Archived SKUs">
    If you can't find a SKU, check if it's archived. Include the Archived status in your filter to see all products.
  </Accordion>
