Inventory History

The History tab on the Inventory Management page is the audit trail for your stock. It shows every recorded change to on-hand across all warehouses and sources — syncs, fulfillments, imports, adjustments, transactions, and more — and can also reconstruct what inventory looked like at any point in time.

The change feed

By default the tab shows the change feed: a server-paginated list of inventory changes, newest first, 50 per page. Each entry records the position (warehouse and SKU), what changed, when, from which source, and who did it.

Change sources

Every change carries a source badge:
Rejected adjustment proposals never appear in History — a rejected request never becomes an inventory change. Proposers can see rejection outcomes and the approver’s note on the My requests tab.

Filtering the feed

The toolbar gives you several ways to narrow the feed:
  • Search — matches SKU code, SKU name, and actor.
  • Date range — a preset dropdown: Last 7 days, Last 30 days (the default), Last month, Last 90 days, or All time. Presets are rolling, so a saved view or shared URL of “Last 90 days” always shows the most recent 90 days.
  • Filter chips — multi-select chips for Source, SKU, and Location. Each chip matches rows against any of the selected values, and you can combine chips.
  • Clear all — removes every active filter at once.
Changing any filter returns you to the first page of results.

Saved views and columns

  • Views — save the current filter and column setup as a named view and reload it later. Views are available on the change feed only, not the as-of snapshot.
  • Table Settings — show or hide columns, and set the As of control described below.

Point-in-time snapshots

Open Table Settings and set As of to a date and time to swap the feed for a snapshot grid: every position’s inventory state exactly as it stood at that moment. While a snapshot is showing, the same search and Source, SKU, and Location filters apply. Clear the As of value to return to the change feed.
Use a snapshot to answer questions like “what did we have on the shelf at month end?” without reconstructing it from individual changes.

Position detail

Click any row — in either the feed or a snapshot — to open the detail dialog for that warehouse and SKU pairing. The dialog shows the position’s complete change history across all sources (it ignores the tab’s Source filter), read oldest to newest so on-hand deltas follow the position’s actual timeline. Each entry in the dialog shows:
  • The source badge and timestamp
  • The actor who made the change
  • On-hand after the change, with the delta
  • Committed, unsellable, and sellable quantities
  • The reason (for adjustments) and order references (for order-driven changes), when present
The dialog shows the 100 most recent changes for the position; older history is not shown.

Exporting to CSV

The grid’s export walks every page of results under your active filters — not just the page on screen — so the CSV is the complete filtered history. Actor IDs are resolved to email addresses in the export. See Exports for general export behavior.

Where did the Adjustment Log go?

The former Adjustment Log is now part of History. Legacy Adjustment Log links land on the History tab with the Source filter pre-set to Adjustment, which reproduces the old adjustment-only view. Remove the Source chip to see all changes.

Best practices

When investigating a suspect count, click the row to open the position detail dialog. Reading one position’s film oldest-to-newest is much faster than scanning the global feed.
If you regularly review the same slice — for example, all adjustments at one warehouse — save it as a view so the filters are one click away.
Set As of to the period boundary instead of mentally replaying changes. The snapshot shows every position exactly as it stood.
The CSV export honors your active filters and walks all pages, so narrow the feed first to get a clean, complete extract of just the changes you care about.

Troubleshooting

A change I expected is missing

Possible causes: The date range excludes it (the default is Last 30 days), a filter chip narrows it out, or it was a rejected adjustment proposal. Solutions:
  1. Set the date range to All time and clear filters with Clear all.
  2. Remember that rejected proposals never appear in History — check My requests instead.

The Views button is missing

Possible cause: An As of value is set. Saved views apply to the change feed only. Solution: Clear As of in Table Settings to return to the feed.

The export takes a while

Possible cause: The export pages through the entire filtered result set, not just the visible page. Solution: Narrow the date range or add filters before exporting.
